7-Eleven Enhances Commitment to Providing Sustainably Grown Fresh Produce

7-Eleven Inc. has announced a new partnership with Plenty Unlimited Inc., a leader in indoor vertical farming, to provide fresh, sustainably grown produce in its California locations

This collaboration is a key part of 7-Eleven’s commitment to sustainability and delivering high-quality, locally sourced products to its customers. “We are thrilled to introduce Plenty to our salad offerings and bring their innovative and sustainable approach to fresh produce to our customers,” said Marissa Jarratt, 7-Eleven’s chief marketing and sustainability officer. The partnership aligns with 7-Eleven’s “Good Made Easy” initiative, which focuses on offering products that meet customer expectations for quality while also promoting environmental sustainability. Plenty’s indoor vertical farming technology is recognized for its efficiency and minimal environmental impact. The company’s pesticide-free leafy greens are grown using just 1% of the land typically required by traditional farming methods, yielding up to 350 times more per acre. Additionally, their approach reduces water usage by up to 90%.
“We’re proud to be working with 7-Eleven to bring sustainably grown produce into the heart of communities across California,” said Dana Worth, SVP, commercial at Plenty. Lettuce from Plenty’s Compton, California, farm will be featured in salads sold at 1,300 7-Eleven stores across the state.

The partnership introduces two classic salad options featuring Plenty’s greens:

  • California Cobb Salad: Includes Plenty’s Crispy Lettuce, white meat chicken, sliced egg, grape tomatoes, applewood bacon, and a blend of cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese, served with ranch dressing.
  • Chicken Caesar Salad: Features Plenty’s Crispy Lettuce, white meat chicken, parmesan cheese, croutons, parmesan crisps, and a lemon wedge, with Caesar dressing.

Deanna Hall, senior product director at 7-Eleven, emphasized the company’s focus on innovation and customer satisfaction, stating that the introduction of Plenty’s produce is just one of many steps in evolving 7-Eleven’s fresh food offerings.

7-Eleven Inc., based in Irving, Texas, operates over 13,000 stores across the United States and Canada, including other retail brands like Speedway, Stripes, Laredo Taco Co., and Raise the Roost Chicken and Biscuits.
