Food Bazaar has expanded its presence in New Jersey with the opening of a new store in Carlstadt, located at Paterson Ave., in a space previously occupied by Stop & Shop. This marks the eighth Food Bazaar store in the state, with 30 other locations in Connecticut and New York.

Food Bazaar‘s parent company, Bogopa, named after the Korean word meaning “yearning for you,” emphasizes its mission to serve diverse communities, especially those comprised of immigrants and minorities. The chain specializes in providing a wide variety of local and international products, catering to customers seeking a taste of home. This approach has made the brand popular in areas that other supermarket chains often avoid.

The Carlstadt store opened on October 4, and while it’s still in the process of completing setup, the aisles are already stocked with a broad range of goods, reflecting the diverse needs of the local community. The new location takes over one of the 32 Stop & Shop closures announced in July as part of the company’s plan to shut down underperforming stores.

Food Bazaar’s strategy of entering underserved communities aligns with its goal of offering unique products and building loyalty among customers who often feel overlooked by major grocery chains.
