Iceland has reintroduced its beloved Christmas advert this year, focusing on celebrating authentic holiday moments. The campaign, which began airing on TV on November 16, features the supermarket’s new ambassador, Josie Gibson.

The ad presents four touching storylines that highlight the joy of real Christmas experiences, from sharing festive foods to cherishing time with loved ones. The commercial wraps up with a festive twist on Iceland’s iconic tagline, now reading: “That’s why Santa goes to Iceland.”

After a brief hiatus in 2023 to support customers during the cost-of-living crisis, Iceland is back with a holiday message that reflects its commitment to quality and value during this magical season. Executive chairman Richard Walker commented, “Josie has been a fantastic ambassador for us, and this year’s ad, like our Christmas range, offers great value to help our customers celebrate the holidays.”

This year’s campaign also follows the retailer’s decision to evolve its slogan from “That’s why mums go to Iceland” to the more inclusive “That’s why we go to Iceland,” to better reflect its diverse customer base.

The launch of Iceland’s Christmas ad comes as other UK supermarkets, such as Tesco, have also unveiled their holiday campaigns, with Tesco encouraging customers to “feed your Christmas spirit” through a festive gingerbread-filled advert and charity donation drive.
