Meijer Extends Home Delivery Range from 20 to 60 Minutes
Midwest retailer Meijer has significantly expanded its home delivery service, tripling its delivery range from an approximate 20-minute radius to 60 minutes. This expansion allows the retailer to reach nearly four million additional households across the Midwest.
“We heard from many customers that were interested in using home delivery to make their grocery shopping more convenient but couldn’t because they were outside of the delivery range,” said Emily Henao, Vice President of Digital Experience at Meijer. Customers can now easily check if they are within the expanded delivery area by using the Meijer app or visiting Meijer.com. By navigating to the “Delivery” section and entering their address, customers can verify their eligibility.
To entice customers to try out the expanded service, Meijer is offering free home delivery in the new delivery zones for orders over $35 in pet or beauty products, or $50 in general merchandise, through February 1, 2025. After the promotion ends, customers in the expanded delivery area will incur a delivery fee based on the extended range. However, customers using SNAP benefits will continue to enjoy free home delivery beyond the promotional period.
Meijer first introduced home delivery in the Detroit market in 2016 and gradually expanded the service across its Midwest locations in the years that followed. During the pandemic, the retailer increased its hours to meet the growing demand for grocery delivery. Today, all Meijer Grocery stores and supercenters offer home delivery, solidifying the retailer’s commitment to providing convenient shopping options for its customers.
