The Johnsonville sausage recall affects over 22,000 pounds of cheddar bratwurst due to potential hard plastic contamination.
Johnsonville, LLC took swift action after two consumers discovered foreign materials and reported the issue to the company.

Details of the Recalled Sausage Products

The recalled bratwursts, produced on February 5, carry the package code B9FOD and establishment number “Est. 1647.”
These items were sold in Georgia, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, Tennessee, Virginia, and Wisconsin.

Although no injuries have been reported, Johnsonville issued the recall immediately to ensure consumer safety and product quality.
The U.S. Food Safety Inspection Service (FSIS) continues to monitor the situation and updates affected retailers accordingly.

Other Recent Food Safety Recalls in the Market

Meanwhile, FSIS also recalled 29,541 pounds of Chomps beef sticks due to the presence of metal fragments in some packages.
These beef sticks were distributed in California, Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, and Washington with no reported injuries so far.

Additionally, Tony’s Chocolonely recalled several chocolate bars because consumers discovered small stones in some product batches.
Trader Joe’s Hot Honey Mustard Dressing was also pulled from stores due to mislabeled allergens, risking allergic reactions.

So far in 2024, the USDA and FDA have jointly issued 296 recalls, mainly tied to contamination and incorrect ingredient disclosures.
