Pernod Ricard Finalizes Major Wine Sale to Accolade Owner
Pernod Ricard has officially completed the Pernod Ricard Wine Sale, transferring its global wine brands to Australian Wine Holdco Limited.
A New Chapter in Global Wine
This sale marks the creation of a new wine entity, Vinarchy, formed by merging assets from both companies.
With this move, Pernod Ricard sharpens its focus on premium spirits and champagne rather than lower-margin wine categories.
Notably, the group will still temporarily distribute these wines to ensure a seamless operational transition.
A Portfolio of Global Brands
The Pernod Ricard Wine Sale includes iconic names such as Jacob’s Creek, Orlando, and St Hugo from Australia.
It also covers New Zealand brands like Brancott Estate and Church Road, and Spain’s Campo Viejo and Ysios.
In total, the portfolio represents over 10 million cases annually and includes seven fully integrated wineries.
Strategy for Premiumization
This move aligns with Pernod Ricard’s long-term plan to increase emphasis on high-margin, premium beverages.
Wines accounted for just 4% of its 2023 sales, making them a strategic choice for divestment.
Now, with its wine division spun off, the company aims to lead in international spirits innovation and expansion.
