Aldi Fashion Collection Unveiled at London Fashion Week

Aldi has launched its bold new Aldi fashion collection, a haute-couture line crafted from black bin bags. This unique launch brings creativity and affordability together.

Trash-Chic Fashion Line

Dubbed “Trash-Chic,” this Aldi fashion collection was designed in collaboration with Ethan Leyland. The team created the garments using over 100 Aldi-branded bin bags. Each outfit features materials from the supermarket’s Everyday Essentials Refuse Sacks, made from 60% recycled plastic and costing just £1.25 per roll.

Aldi’s design team spent over 270 hours crafting the pieces, proving that budget-friendly items can shine on the runway. The collection was modeled outside London Fashion Week, catching the attention of fashion enthusiasts.

Affordable Creativity in Fashion

Julie Ashfield, Aldi UK’s managing director of buying, said: “When we labeled our Everyday Refuse Sacks as suitable for various household uses, we really meant it. From lining your bin to becoming a runway-ready creation, these bin bags are versatile.”

She added: “At Aldi, we strive to offer great value, even in high-end fashion. Following our 2024 satirical campaign recreating Moschino’s celery bag, we’ve now brought affordable fashion to one of the year’s biggest events.”

Inspired by Innovation

The “Trash-Chic” range reflects Aldi’s commitment to affordable innovation. This creative stunt follows Asda’s launch of its own Fashion Week piece, featuring hot cross bum bags.
