DoorDash Redesigns Its Shopping Experience and More
DoorDash is rolling out several new features designed to simplify shopping, especially for the holiday season. Key updates include a revamped shopping interface, streamlined grocery basket-building tools, new gift card options, and discounted DashPass plans for SNAP/EBT recipients.
Key Features:
- Redesigned Shopping Experience:
DoorDash has revamped its retail shopping interface, allowing users to search for products across multiple merchants. Prices and estimated delivery times for each item are displayed in one view, making it easier for consumers to compare options. This feature, which launched with alcohol ahead of the holidays, will expand to other categories like beauty and electronics in the coming months. - Easier Grocery Basket Building:
Users can now build grocery baskets quickly by importing lists from the iOS Reminders app or pasting a list directly into the DoorDash app. This simplifies the process of gathering grocery items, making shopping faster and more convenient. - Bon Appétit Recipe Shopping:
In collaboration with Bon Appétit, DoorDash users can access free chef-inspired recipes and have all the ingredients delivered directly to their homes. To use this feature, shoppers simply choose a recipe from DoorDash’s catalog, click “shop the recipe,” select the store, and wait for their delivery. - Multi-store Shopping (DoubleDash):
Originally introduced in 2021, DoubleDash has been expanded. Users can now add items from multiple stores to a single order before checking out, with no additional delivery fee. This provides a more convenient way to shop across different retailers. - Gift Cards for the Holidays:
DoorDash has introduced the ability to purchase both physical and digital gift cards from hundreds of stores, including DoorDash gift cards. Users can choose to have these delivered either via email or to someone’s physical address. - Discounted DashPass for SNAP/EBT Recipients:
DoorDash is offering a special discounted DashPass plan for SNAP/EBT recipients, providing access to $0 delivery fees, reduced service fees on eligible orders, and exclusive offers. The plan costs just $4.99 per month for one year, helping increase access to fresh groceries. - Holiday Savings:
In preparation for the holiday season, DoorDash is offering additional savings for Black Friday and Cyber Monday. From Nov. 29 to Dec. 5, customers can get $20 off retail orders over $60, on top of any in-store discounts, when shopping at top retailers like Best Buy.
