Family Dollar has chosen customer data science provider dunnhumby as its strategic platform for category management and merchandising collaboration across its network of stores. This advanced technology will enable Family Dollar to make more customer-centric decisions regarding merchandising.

“Understanding and listening to what our customers want is at the very core of our mission to meet and exceed the needs of our shoppers,” stated Larry Gatta, Chief Merchandising Officer at Family Dollar. “With our new category and merchandising platform, we can tailor and fine-tune our assortments to local purchasing preferences, ensuring we provide our customers with the products they need at each of our stores.”

The new category management and merchandising platform at Family Dollar will be constructed using two key components: dunnhumby Assortment and dunnhumby Shop.

Dunnhumby Assortment is an AI-driven assortment solution that utilizes predictive analytics to determine which products should be selected for each store. It also forecasts the potential impact of assortment changes across various locations.

Dunnhumby Shop, on the other hand, is a web-based AI-powered tool that aggregates insights about shopper behavior and highlights the latest category trends.
