Mars, owner of Dolmio, Appoints New Head of Europe

Mars has appointed Hans Bakker as the new regional general manager for Mars Food & Nutrition Europe, a role in which he will oversee a portfolio that includes brands like Ben’s Original, Dolmio, and Suzi Wan. Bakker, who has been with Mars for 20 years, most recently served as vice president of global transformation, leading initiatives across 30 countries. Before this, he held various sales and marketing positions, including general manager for Mars Food & Nutrition in Germany.

Bakker succeeds Dave Dusangh, who is transitioning to the role of regional president for North America. In his new role, Bakker will report to global president Shaid Shah and will focus on driving growth, promoting Mars’ purpose, and delivering nutritious meals to consumers across Europe.

Shahid expressed confidence in both Bakker and Dusangh’s ability to strengthen Mars’ business in their respective regions, highlighting the company’s continued commitment to investing in talent to enhance business performance.

The announcement follows Mars’ recent deal to acquire Kellanova, the maker of Pringles, for more than $29 billion (£22 billion).
