Misfits Market Rounds Acquisition Strengthens Push for Reusable Packaging

Online Grocer Grows Eco-Friendly Delivery Network with Strategic Deal

The Misfits Market Rounds acquisition marks a major step in the online grocer’s mission to eliminate waste and increase sustainability. Misfits Market acquired The Rounds, a last-mile delivery company focused on reusable packaging and low-waste delivery.

Both companies have long championed eco-friendly operations. Misfits offers discounted groceries that would otherwise go to waste. Meanwhile, The Rounds delivers essentials using returnable packaging in cities like Philadelphia and Washington, D.C.

Abhi Ramesh, Misfits Market’s CEO, said the acquisition will expand the company’s impact nationwide. “This partnership scales our shared vision for a less wasteful supply chain,” he stated in the press release.

Combining Strengths to Reduce Waste and Emissions

The Rounds emphasized that this merger aligns their values and mission. Both companies use sustainable packaging, reverse logistics, and efficient delivery methods to cut emissions and packaging waste.

Since its founding in 2019, The Rounds has earned customer loyalty with its zero-waste model and reusable containers. Misfits Market, which previously acquired Imperfect Foods in 2022, continues to scale with every strategic move.

That earlier acquisition expanded its product catalog and helped reach 90% of U.S. zip codes. Now, the Misfits Market Rounds acquisition adds new delivery channels and environmentally conscious consumers to the mix.

Misfits also announced an expansion into B2B services through its new partnerships. The company now reaches corporate and multifamily housing communities with low-emission delivery.

“This new distribution channel allows us to bring sustainable groceries to hundreds of thousands more consumers,”

Misfits stated.
