Walmart Issues Recall for Marketside Broccoli Florets

The Walmart Broccoli Recall has raised concerns after potential Listeria monocytogenes contamination. Walmart recalled 12-oz. bags of Marketside broccoli florets produced by Braga Fresh. This recall affects stores across 20 states.

Recalled Product Details

The affected product includes ready-to-eat broccoli florets with a best-by date of December 10 and UPC code 6 81131 32884 5. While the product is no longer available in stores, Walmart urges customers who may have frozen the broccoli to discard it immediately.

Reason for Recall

The recall followed a positive Listeria test from a random sample at a Texas store. Although no illnesses have been reported, Listeria monocytogenes can cause severe illness in vulnerable groups like pregnant women, newborns, and individuals with weakened immune systems.

States Affected by the Recall

The recalled broccoli was sold in Walmart stores across these states:

  • Alaska
  • Arkansas
  • Arizona
  • California
  • Colorado
  • Idaho
  • Illinois
  • Indiana
  • Kentucky
  • Louisiana
  • Michigan
  • Montana
  • Nevada
  • Ohio
  • Oklahoma
  • Oregon
  • Texas
  • Utah

Walmart’s Response

Walmart emphasized its commitment to customer safety and advised customers to discard the product if still stored at home. The company is working closely with Braga Fresh to ensure all safety protocols are followed.
