Walgreens to present at diabetes conference
The FFL conference is an annual event that educates the community about diabetes management tools while empowering families and individuals living with diabetes to lead healthy lives.
Walgreens has announced its participation for the second consecutive year as a sponsor of Children with Diabetes (CWD), a nonprofit organization dedicated to educating and supporting families living with type 1 diabetes, at their upcoming Friends for Life (FFL) conference.
At the annual event, which will be held from July 9-14 in Orlando, Fla., Walgreens will showcase various diabetes products and healthcare solutions. These include blood glucose meters, testing strips, at-home A1C test kits, and the expertise of highly trained pharmacists specializing in diabetes care.
As part of the booth experience, Walgreens and Instacart will offer a pop-up shop featuring Walgreens brand diabetes supplies, first-aid essentials, sun care items, and more. The pop-up shop will use Instacart’s Scan & Pay technology, allowing customers to use their mobile device’s camera to scan product barcodes and check out quickly with digital payment.
In line with the event’s mission, Tracey D. Brown, executive vice president and president of Walgreens Retail and chief customer officer, and Shauna Markes-Wilson, Walgreens director of pharmacy and retail operations for the Georgia/Florida North region, will speak at the conference. Walgreens will also highlight its efforts in driving clinical trials in diabetes.
Additionally, Walgreens’ talent acquisition team will be on-site to engage with endocrinology fellows, recent Ph.D. graduates, and healthcare professionals, reinforcing its commitment to integrating into the diabetes community.
