Located at 2900 Arapahoe Road, this store welcomed its first shoppers on October 2, taking the place of a previous location that closed just days before.
Covering 103,000 square feet, the new King Soopers nearly doubles the size of its predecessor, allowing for a broader selection of grocery essentials, fresh produce, prepared meals, and various other products.
Among the standout features of the Erie store are an in-store Starbucks, a Murray’s Cheese Shop, a sushi counter, and a drive-thru pharmacy. Additionally, customers can take advantage of an adjacent 18-pump fuel center.
The new store is supported by a team of 180 associates, including 45 new hires. Many of these staff members participated in the grand opening celebrations, which featured special promotions, giveaways, samples, and a complimentary breakfast for the first 200 customers.
Joe Kelley, president of Kroger-owned King Soopers and City Markets, noted in a recent LinkedIn post that the store represents a $32.2 million investment reflecting years of community growth. “For over 20 years, our smaller format location faithfully served this community, but your loyalty helped us outgrow it – thank you for being the heart of your success,” he stated.
