Bi-Rite Family of Businesses, a San Francisco-based independent grocer and Certified B Corporation, will open its third neighborhood grocery store, Bi-Rite Market Polk Street, on August 29. Located at 2140 Polk Street, the newly renovated space was previously Real Foods Co.

Bi-Rite’s vision for the new store goes beyond just opening another location. “We wanted to create a space that reflects the neighborhood’s soul, where people can gather, discover, and delight in the food they love,” said Sam Mogannam, founding partner of Bi-Rite Family of Businesses.

The Bi-Rite Market Polk Street will offer a curated selection of local and direct-sourced products, house-made meals, desserts, and Bi-Rite Creamery ice cream. The store is committed to its Certified Delicious promise, ensuring every item is delicious or it will be made right.

The store will be managed by experienced staff, including General Manager Steffan Morin, a 17-year Bi-Rite veteran, and Assistant General Manager Skyler Warren, with 11 years of experience. The expansion has created 75 new jobs in San Francisco.
To celebrate the opening, Bi-Rite Market Polk Street will host activities over the opening weekend (August 31 and September 1) including gift-with-purchase offers and special deals. Three percent of the market’s sales during the weekend will benefit Project Open Hand, a longtime Bi-Rite community partner that provides nutritious meals and groceries to over 200 people daily. The celebration will also feature live music from local artists from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. each day.

Throughout September, the store will continue festivities with “Saturday Songs on Polk,” showcasing local musicians and offering special promotions, local producer tastings, and surprises.
