As the holiday season heats up, DoorDash and Instacart are rolling out enticing deals to capture consumer spending during one of the busiest shopping periods of the year. Both companies announced new perks on Monday, designed to streamline last-minute shopping and reduce costs for their users.

Instacart Introduces Express Lane for Small Orders

Instacart has launched Express Lane, a new benefit for Instacart+ loyalty members. The service allows members to enjoy free delivery on orders of $10 or more, a significant reduction from the standard $35 minimum.

According to Instacart’s 2023 holiday data, smaller basket orders between $10 and $20 increased up to threefold around Thanksgiving and Christmas compared to the annual average. The new feature aims to cater to consumers making quick, last-minute purchases during the holiday rush.

DoorDash Enhances Shopping Experience with Discounts and Features

DoorDash is focusing on convenience, introducing new tools for its users:

  • Price Comparison Across Merchants: Customers can now search for items across multiple stores, with prices and estimated delivery times displayed in one view.
  • Grocery List Integration: DoorDash users can import shopping lists directly from Apple’s iOS platform, simplifying the ordering process.
  • Holiday Discount: For Black Friday and Cyber Monday shoppers, DoorDash is offering $20 off retail orders of $60 or more. This promotion runs from Nov. 29 to Dec. 5.

Both companies aim to help customers save time and money this holiday season, offering tailored solutions for convenience and efficiency in the crowded delivery space.
