Geissler’s Supermarkets is enhancing the shopping experience by rolling out Caper Carts, Instacart’s AI-powered smart carts, across all seven of its locations in Connecticut and Massachusetts. This move makes Geissler’s the first retailer to replace a majority of its traditional shopping carts with Caper Carts at all its stores.

The innovative carts are integrated with Geissler’s loyalty program (LEF), allowing them to display personalized product recommendations and special offers based on the shopper’s location within the store. The smart carts’ screens also provide real-time assistance, enhancing the customer experience by offering tailored suggestions.

“We’re excited about the immediate benefits and what’s to come,” said Bob Rybick, CEO and President of Geissler’s Supermarkets.

The partnership between Geissler’s and Instacart, which began in 2023 with same-day delivery services, now extends to the deployment of Caper Carts, making Geissler’s the first grocer in Massachusetts and Connecticut to implement this cutting-edge technology in its stores. This move further cements Geissler’s commitment to improving its customers’ shopping experience with innovative tech solutions.
