Giant Eagle Cuts Produce Prices
Easing Inflation Helps Maintain Steady Grocery Spending Cuts Produce Prices to Offer $25 Million in Annual Savings
In response to rising grocery costs, Giant Eagle Inc. has introduced a significant price reduction on more than 200 popular produce items across its Giant Eagle and Market District banners. The company estimates that the initiative will save customers $25 million annually.
Brian Ferrier, Giant Eagle’s SVP of Merchandising, emphasized that the New Low Price initiative reflects the grocer’s commitment to providing customers with quality, variety, and value. He said, “By significantly reducing prices on more than 200 produce items, we’re not just offering savings – we’re investing in everyday value. In these challenging economic times, we’re proud to make the fresh, quality produce we stock daily more affordable.”
The price cuts are part of a broader effort to offer significant value to customers amidst continued high food prices. These reductions are designed to provide long-term savings in one of the store’s high-priority departments—produce. Giant Eagle also continues other price-focused initiatives, including weekly sales, seasonal Deals for Days, and personalized savings via its myPerks loyalty program.
