GrubMarket Announces Another Acquisition

Fast-growing food tech company buying FreshGoGo, strengthening position in grocery e-commerce

Following recent acquisitions of online grocer Good Eggs and Asian squash provider Best Oriental Produce, GrubMarket has announced its purchase of FreshGoGo, one of the largest online Asian grocery and specialty food e-commerce platforms in North America.

GrubMarket, known for its tech-enabled B2B food e-commerce and AI solutions for the food supply chain industry, views this acquisition as a strategic move to bolster its position in the online grocery delivery market. FreshGoGo, based in Plainview, N.Y., offers an extensive range of nearly 6,000 unique SKUs, including fresh produce, meats, seafood, dry goods, snacks, specialty items, and gourmet Asian dishes from local restaurants.

Since its founding in 2017, FreshGoGo has developed an advanced cold chain distribution and logistics network, with a 50,000-square-foot central warehouse in New York. The platform has expanded its services to 25 states along the East Coast and Central United States. Post-acquisition, FreshGoGo will continue to be led by its current management team.

With this acquisition, GrubMarket aims to reinforce its leadership in the online grocery market and further its commitment to providing fresh, affordable food to diverse communities nationwide. GrubMarket has also recently acquired other businesses, including Butter, a VC-backed food wholesale software company, and Performance Produce, a vertically integrated fresh produce business in Salisbury, N.C.

Based in San Francisco, GrubMarket operates across all 50 states and has a global footprint in countries such as Argentina, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Egypt, India, Mexico, South Africa, and Spain, with plans for further expansion in North America, South America, Europe, Africa, and beyond.
