In the coming weeks, H-E-B will initiate a phased rollout of a digital tap-to-pay service across all its flagship stores. H-E-B Launches Digital Tap-To-Pay Across All Locations, allowing customers to use popular digital payment options like Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, and Google Pay for their purchases.

The rollout will start in the San Antonio area, where it will take about a week for the service to be available at every store. Throughout October, H-E-B plans to expand this service to additional locations across Texas, including Mi Tienda stores in Houston.

With this new technology, customers can conveniently tap to pay using their physical cards or digital wallets at cash registers, self-checkout lanes, and H-E-B-branded restaurants and pharmacy locations. While the service won’t be available at H-E-B fuel pumps initially, it can be used at the fuel station payment window.

“At H-E-B, we’re always exploring a broad range of technologies to enhance how customers shop and pay for products,” said Ashwin Nathan, H-E-B group VP of marketing and payments. “This has been one of the most requested services from our customers and partners, and we are excited to make this popular technology available at all our H-E-B locations.”

Earlier this summer, H-E-B had already introduced tap-to-pay services at its Central Market and Joe V’s Smart Shop stores throughout the state. With this ongoing commitment to innovation, H-E-B continues to improve the shopping experience for its customers.
