San Antonio-based grocery chain H-E-B has recently commenced construction on a new store in the Austin suburb of Manor and plans to begin work on another location in the Dallas suburb of Forney later this month.

With a current total of 435 stores in Texas and Mexico, H-E-B anticipates the 101,000-square-foot Manor store, situated at Hwy 290 and FM 973, will open in late 2025. The Forney store, which will span 140,000 square feet, is expected to welcome customers in early 2026.

The Manor location will feature pharmacy pickup spaces, a seven-pump fuel station, a car wash, and an extensive curbside area for delivery orders. Additionally, shoppers can look forward to a full-service bakery, tortilleria, deli section, beer and wine department, Healthy Living section, floral department, seafood counter, Meal Simple area with meal-planning resources, and a sushi department.

During the groundbreaking ceremony for the Manor store, H-E-B announced donations of $5,000 each to several local organizations, including the Manor ISD Education Foundation, Healing with Horses Ranch, Manor Schoolhouse Foundation, and Jesse Samaripa American Legion Post 331. Cathy Harm, H-E-B senior vice president for Central Texas, expressed enthusiasm about the new store: “It’s always an honor and a privilege to open our first store in a new community, allowing us to serve even more Texans.”

Details regarding the Forney store, located at U.S. 80 and Gateway Blvd., remain limited. H-E-B has seen significant expansion in recent years, having broken ground on a 112,000-square-foot store in Georgetown, Texas, and opened multiple locations in the Dallas-Fort Worth metro area, including Mansfield, Allen, Frisco, Plano, and McKinney in 2023.
