Kroger to Pilot ‘Asian Experience’ Stores in North Texas
Kroger is set to pilot two “Asian Experience” stores in North Texas in 2025, designed to cater specifically to the growing Asian community in the region. While the exact locations are yet to be confirmed, one store will be located in Denton County and the other in Collin County.
This initiative comes as a response to significant demographic shifts in these counties, with a spokesperson highlighting the population explosion and Kroger’s efforts to adapt to changing consumer needs. The stores will feature a wide range of products that cater to Asian cooking, aligning with the preferences of local shoppers.
Kroger is not alone in this endeavor; other grocers in North Texas are also expanding their offerings for Asian and Indian communities. For instance, a new Tom Thumb store in Frisco is stocking hundreds of South Asian and Indian products. Additionally, Collin and Denton counties host various specialty stores, including India Bazaar, Mitsuwa Marketplace, 99 Ranch, and H Mart, which cater to Asian and Indian shoppers.
This strategic move by Kroger reflects the increasing competition among retailers to capture the diverse tastes and preferences of their customers, particularly in regions experiencing rapid population growth.
