More than half a million portable chargers sold at Costco have been recalled following multiple reports of overheating, with two home fires directly linked to the devices. The recall, issued by the Consumer Product Safety Commission, affects the MyCharge Power Hub All-In-One 10,000mAh portable chargers with model numbers AO10FK-A, AO10FK-B, and AO10FK-C.

These chargers, sold at Costco locations and online between January 2022 and November 2023, pose a potential safety risk due to their lithium-ion batteries. According to the commission, the recalled units can be identified by a date code printed on the outer surface of the wall prong, with codes ending in 21, 22, or one of the following four ending in 23: 0123, 0923, 1523, or 1723.

Consumers are urged to stop using the chargers immediately and contact MyCharge for a free replacement. Additionally, the Consumer Product Safety Commission advises that the lithium-ion batteries should be disposed of properly, following local and state guidelines.
