Patagonia Provisions is expanding its sustainable seafood offerings with the launch of hand-packed tinned sardines in three distinct flavors:

  1. Coconut Curry: Featuring aromatic organic vegetables and a rich coconut curry sauce.
  2. Extra Virgin Olive Oil: A simple, meaty option with mild flavor, lightly salted and packed in premium olive oil.
  3. Tomato Sauce (coming soon): Inspired by classic Neapolitan puttanesca, this flavor includes capers, olives, and garlic.

Sustainable Sourcing:

The sardines are sourced from thriving populations in the Bay of Biscay off northern Spain, with fishing practices that minimize bycatch and prevent overfishing. Sardines, being short-lived fish, are naturally lower on the food chain, meaning they accumulate fewer toxins compared to longer-lived predators like tuna or swordfish. This makes them a healthy choice rich in omega-3s, protein, calcium, and vitamin B12.

Convenient and Versatile:

Patagonia Provisions‘ sardines can be enjoyed straight from the tin, as part of a “seacuterie” board, or incorporated into quick and easy weeknight recipes developed by the brand.

Pricing:

The sardines are priced at approximately $8 per 4.2-ounce tin for any flavor.

This new launch underscores Patagonia Provisions’ commitment to offering sustainable, nutritious, and delicious seafood options for consumers, while supporting responsible fishing practices.
