Pip & Nut Welcomes Tim Lee as New Board Member to Drive Expansion and Growth

All-natural nut butter and snack brand Pip & Nut has appointed Tim Lee, CEO of Mindful Chef, to its board. This strategic move comes at a pivotal moment for the company, which aims to solidify its position as the UK’s fastest-growing nut butter brand and expand its product offerings, including its recent foray into the cereal bar market.

A Key Appointment for a Growing Brand

Tim Lee brings a wealth of experience to Pip & Nut, having previously held roles as chair and chief executive of Mindful Chef, as well as food marketing director at Tesco and head of food and online strategy at Marks & Spencer. His appointment marks Pip & Nut’s first non-executive director, a step that founder and CEO Pippa Murray believes will be crucial as the brand enters its next phase of growth.

Lee expressed his enthusiasm for the role, stating, “I’ve watched as Pip has led this brand from a challenger start-up to the fastest growing nut butter brand in the UK. I’m excited to get involved and help her and the team take it even further. From leading my own purpose-led brands, I understand the importance of staying true to Pip & Nut’s commitment to ethical and sustainable sourcing while also scaling their offer to reach new and larger audiences.”

Supporting Sustainable Growth and Expansion

Pippa Murray highlighted the significance of Lee’s appointment: “His experience makes him the perfect fit for us as we enter a period of growth, with ambitions to expand our product lines following our successful entry into the cereal bar category and growing consumer demand for healthier, more sustainable options.”

Over the next 12 months, Lee will focus on supporting Pip & Nut in establishing the right structures and frameworks for scaling the business. Drawing on his experience growing Mindful Chef, he will also assist in developing consumer-centric, digital strategies as the brand moves further into the snacking category.

Strengthening Leadership Amid Growing Demand

The addition of Tim Lee to the board is part of a broader strategy to enhance Pip & Nut’s leadership team and deepen its engagement with customers and consumers. This follows the recent appointment of Giles Brook, a lead investor in Pip & Nut and adviser to several food and drink start-ups, as chairman.

Murray concluded, “Tim’s hire is just the latest in a series of decisions that we are making to strengthen our expertise and continue delivering products that taste great and are good for people and the planet.”

With these strategic appointments, Pip & Nut is well-positioned to continue its impressive growth trajectory and bring healthier, delicious products to even more consumers across the UK.
