Discount grocery chain Save A Lot is set to launch an automated delivery service with a new micro-fulfillment center located in Brooklyn. This initiative marks a significant step in the retailer’s expansion strategy, aimed at enhancing last-mile delivery options for its customers.

The St. Ann, Missouri-based company is collaborating with Fabric, an automation solutions provider, to support the backend operations of this innovative fulfillment strategy. By leveraging Fabric’s cube-based storage system, Save A Lot will streamline grocery fulfillment for direct-to-consumer deliveries across Brooklyn.

Starting this month, customers will be able to place orders through the Brooklyn online storefront on the Uber Eats app. Deliveries will be facilitated by Uber couriers, building on Save A Lot’s ongoing partnership with Uber to enhance delivery services.

With approximately 750 stores across 32 states, Save A Lot aims to strengthen its presence in New York City, providing consumers with convenient and efficient grocery delivery options.
