Ed Mugnani Joins SHFM Board of Directors
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (January 4, 2024) – The Society for Hospitality & Foodservice Management (SHFM) is pleased to announce the addition of Ed Mugnani, Chief Operations Officer of Krafted Kitchen Collection, to its Board of Directors. SHFM is the only association dedicated to Workplace Hospitality and Amenities in the Foodservice Industry, and Mugnani’s extensive experience in hospitality and foodservice operations makes him a valuable asset to the board.

Ed Mugnani’s Extensive Industry Experience
With over 25 years of experience spanning off-premise catering, retail operations, fast casual, fine dining, and workplace dining, Ed Mugnani has been a transformative leader in the hospitality sector. Currently, as COO of Krafted Kitchen Collection, a division of Compass Group USA, Mugnani oversees a dynamic new concept that integrates various dining models tailored to meet the evolving needs of clients and guests. The Krafted Kitchen Collection leverages Compass Group’s extensive network of catering kitchens and partnerships with restaurants and food trucks to deliver unique and scalable dining experiences.
A Vision for Evolving the Foodservice Industry
Mugnani advocates for a culture of entrepreneurial and intrapreneurial thinking within his team to drive business innovation. “My hospitality career has taught me that people come first, egos are checked at the door, and taking care of our clients, guests, and team by anticipating and fulfilling their needs is paramount to success,” says Mugnani. His leadership philosophy is rooted in fostering teamwork and shared camaraderie, believing that great ideas can come from anyone in the organization.
Educational Background and Contributions to the Industry
Ed Mugnani holds an A.S. in Hotel/Food & Beverage Management from Johnson & Wales University and a B.S. in Hospitality Management from Florida International University. He has served in numerous leadership roles, including Chairman of the Illinois Restaurant Education Foundation and Board Member of the Illinois Restaurant Association. Currently, he is also a member of the Society for Foodservice Management and serves on the Dean’s Advisory Council for the Chaplin School of Hospitality & Tourism at Florida International University. Mugnani is passionate about nurturing the next generation of foodservice leaders and considers it a worthy investment of his time.
