SpartanNash Enhances Its Total Rewards Program by Introducing New Childcare Benefits.
The food solutions company has broadened its award-winning Total Rewards program by introducing a 25% daycare discount, backup childcare, and a company match for the Dependent Care FSA.
SpartanNash has enhanced its Total Rewards program by introducing new childcare benefits for employees with children, adult dependents, and older family members. “Working parents are increasingly challenged with access and affordability when seeking child and elder care,” said Adrienne Chance, SpartanNash’s SVP and chief communications officer. “As a mom of three myself, I understand the thought and investment that goes into these decisions. I’m incredibly proud to work at SpartanNash, where we provide meaningful benefits that support associates at various ages and life stages.”
SpartanNash‘s Total Rewards program can save employees around $6,000 annually, thanks to several new daycare benefits. These include 25% off tuition for children aged 0-12 at childcare centers within The Learning Care Group, which encompasses AppleTree, Gilden Woods, Childtime, and Tutor Time, along with over 1,100 schools nationwide. Additionally, priority enrollment and waived registration fees for new children at these centers are included. Employees will also benefit from three days of backup care for when regular care plans are disrupted, managed by The Learning Care Group.
“SpartanNash enhances its Total Rewards program by introducing new childcare benefits,” which also includes a company match of up to $500 for those enrolled in a Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account. The program reflects a strong commitment to supporting families, offering paid parental leave, adoption assistance, and various work-life resources.
“We are proud to partner with SpartanNash in providing a customized childcare solution,” said Sean Sondreal, chief business development officer at Learning Care Group. “By subsidizing tuition and offering backup/emergency childcare, SpartanNash has demonstrated a commitment to ensuring their employees have access to affordable, high-quality care.”
Beyond childcare benefits, SpartanNash employees enjoy a range of perks, including store discounts, tuition reimbursement, flexible scheduling, and paid time off. They can also participate in a 401(k) plan with up to a 4% employer match, access stock purchase discounts, and enroll in medical and dental plans, as well as health and well-being programs.
“At SpartanNash, our approach to benefits focuses on promoting our ‘People First’ culture by offering benefits that provide choice and flexibility while advancing associate well-being,” said Nicole Zube, EVP and chief human resources officer. “We are excited to add daycare benefits to our Total Rewards offering, allowing current and future associates to tailor the benefits to meet their family’s needs.”
In 2024, SpartanNash was recognized in Newsweek’s America’s Greatest Workplaces for Parents & Families. The recognition was based on a comprehensive employer study involving over 693,000 company reviews. “As more parents juggle raising a family with their work obligations, they want employers who offer flexibility and support work-life balance,” noted Nancy Cooper, global editor-in-chief of Newsweek.
