East Coast grocery chain Stew Leonard’s has partnered with Uber Eats to offer delivery from its stores across New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. The announcement comes as Stew Leonard’s seeks to expand its reach through the popular delivery platform, with eight supermarkets and five Stew Leonard’s Wines & Spirits stores now available for delivery via Uber Eats.

As part of the new partnership, Uber One members, Uber’s loyalty program, will receive 5% off their Stew Leonard’s orders and free delivery on orders of $35 or more. Additionally, Uber is offering a 50% discount on the next order (up to $35) for customers who spend $50 or more on Stew Leonard’s items through Uber Eats by Nov. 25.

Stew Leonard’s COO Jake Tavello emphasized the added convenience for shoppers, saying, “We’re excited to offer our shoppers the convenience of online shopping and home delivery of our farm-fresh milk, chef-prepared meals, freshly baked cookies, and more.”

This partnership comes just months after Uber Eats teamed up with Instacart, its major competitor, to integrate a Restaurants tab within the Instacart app. This allows Instacart users to access restaurant deliveries available through Uber Eats. Instacart also benefits from this collaboration by taking a cut of each order, and loyalty program members can receive free restaurant delivery for orders of $35 or more placed via Uber Eats on the Instacart app.

Instacart CEO Fidji Simo has noted that the company is focusing on converting customers who use other apps for restaurant orders, a strategy she views as crucial for growing the business.
