Walmart has unveiled significant enhancements to its pet care services, broadening access to affordable in-person and virtual veterinary care, prescription delivery, grooming services, as well as food and supplies. Walmart Enhances Pet Care Services in Georgia and Arizona.

The pet care sector remains one of the most vibrant in retail, with an anticipated annual spending growth of 7 percent by 2030, leading to household expenses projected at $1,445 per pet by 2026. Veterinary services rank as the second-largest category of pet spending after consumables and are expected to continue expanding as pet owners prioritize their pets’ health and happiness. Despite increased spending on pets, rising inflation poses unforeseen financial challenges, complicating pet care. To address this, Walmart is rolling out its Walmart Pet Services centers in several locations over the next month, including:

  • Cumming, Georgia
  • Alpharetta, Georgia
  • Glendale, Arizona
  • Chandler, Arizona
  • Mesa, Arizona

These new centers build on the success of a pilot site in Dallas, Georgia, with plans for further expansion into more communities. Walmart Enhances Pet Care Services in Georgia and Arizona.

“Walmart understands that pets are family, and we’re proud to be a trusted destination for our pet parents,” said Kaitlyn Shadiow, VP of merchandising for pets, Walmart U.S.

“Whether shopping in-stores or online, Walmart offers a differentiated omnichannel experience and a wide assortment of offerings – from products and prescriptions to services – available at our ‘Every Day Low Prices’ to make pet care affordable and convenient. Our Dallas, Georgia, customers have shown us how much they value the affordable, convenient pet care solutions our first Walmart Pet Services center brought them. We’re excited to bring Walmart Pet Service centers to more markets and help meet our customers’ pet needs in one convenient destination.”

The Walmart Pet Services centers will continue to provide routine veterinary care—such as vaccines, wellness exams, and minor medical services—as well as grooming services like baths, nail trims, teeth cleaning, ear cleaning, and basic hair trims. These services will be offered by qualified veterinary and grooming professionals in collaboration with PetIQ.

Starting October 18, Walmart will introduce its Walmart+ benefit in partnership with Pawp, which was announced earlier this year. This new online pet care service grants Walmart+ members free, 24/7 access to Pawp’s veterinary team, allowing unlimited $0 visits via text or video, helping pet owners address health concerns from anywhere.

Additionally, Walmart has recently expanded its pet pharmacy services, enabling customers nationwide to access low-cost delivery for prescriptions while also continuing to fill pet prescriptions in-store. Over the past year, Walmart has launched several new pet brands, including Goodlands Pet FoodZuke’s Dog TreatsRocco and Roxie, and Vets Best Flea and Tick.
