Walmart Launches Holiday Promotions in October to Meet Consumer Demand.

Walmart is kicking off its holiday shopping deals earlier than ever this year in response to rising consumer demand. According to the retailer, nearly 50% of consumers plan to begin their holiday shopping as early as August and September, reflecting a trend where shoppers are increasingly price-conscious and strategizing to maximize their holiday budgets.

In light of this, Walmart will launch its holiday promotions in October, which includes the first Holiday Deals event of the season and the return of its inflation-free holiday meal, arriving weeks earlier than in previous years.

“We know many of our customers are beginning to prepare for their holiday celebrations early, and we’ve adapted our approach to best meet their needs,” said Latriece Watkins, executive vice president and chief merchandising officer for Walmart U.S.

The first Walmart Holiday Deals event will take place from October 8 to 13, featuring discounts across various categories, including electronics, home goods, fashion, toys, and more, from both Walmart’s own assortment and Walmart Marketplace.

Starting on October 8 at 12 a.m. Eastern Time, Walmart+ members will have exclusive early access to shop these deals—12 hours ahead of non-members. The online event will open to non-members the same day at 12 p.m. Eastern Time, with in-store deals commencing on October 9.

This year, Walmart will also provide a Thanksgiving meal at a lower price than last year. The meal serves up to 10 people and includes turkey (priced at under $1 per pound), trimmings, and dessert for less than $7 per person.

Walmart will begin offering its holiday meal weeks earlier this year, available from October 14 to December 25 in stores and on http://Walmart.com .

Additionally, a new option this year allows shoppers to gift the complete holiday meal for either pickup or delivery.
