Whole Foods Market has revealed its annual trend predictions, marking the 10th year of its highly anticipated food and beverage forecasts. The trends, identified by a council of 50 Whole Foods team members, reflect evolving consumer preferences and highlight areas of innovation across foods, beverages, and ingredients.

Sonya Gafsi Oblisk, Chief Merchandising and Marketing Officer, emphasized the importance of this milestone in showcasing both consumer preferences and bold industry advancements:

“This year, we’re celebrating how far we’ve come by spotlighting trends for 2025 that push the boundaries of what’s possible for the world of food.”

Top 10 Trends for 2025:

  1. International Snacking
    • Globally-inspired snacks with cultural narratives are on the rise, including products like chamoy candy, mango sticky rice chips, and chili crunch nut mixes.
  2. Ever-Adaptable Dumplings
    • Dumplings are evolving with fusion flavors such as pepperoni pizza bao buns and chicken parm dumplings.
  3. Crunch – Texture of the Moment
    • Crunchy foods and beverages are gaining attention, from crispy grains and mushroom chips to crème brûlée espresso martinis.
  4. Hydration Hype
    • Enhanced hydration products like cactus waters with antioxidants and kid-friendly pouches are growing in demand.
  5. Tea’s Time
    • Tea innovation includes tea-infused desserts, plant-based milk teas, and adaptogen-infused brews, as well as new formats like tea strips for cold brew.
  6. Next-Level Compostable
    • Sustainability takes center stage with home-compostable products like Whole Foods’ Compostic Cling Wrap and Steeped Coffee Single Serve Compostable Bags.
