Whole Foods Market is set to open its first smaller-format store, Whole Foods Market Daily Shop, in New York City’s Lenox Hill neighborhood on the Upper East Side. The 9,101-square-foot store, located at 1175 Third Avenue, will open on Wednesday, providing a more convenient shopping experience tailored to busy urban lifestyles.

In addition to the Lenox Hill location, Whole Foods plans to expand with another Daily Shop at 409 E 14th Street in StuyTown, East Village, and a third in Hell’s Kitchen. The company also announced plans for a wider rollout of the Daily Shop concept across New York City and nationally.

The Whole Foods Market Daily Shop format is designed for grab-and-go meals, snacks, and weekly essentials, offering high-quality, fresh ingredients in a compact, convenience-store setting. These smaller stores will range between 7,000 and 14,000 square feet, a quarter to half the size of the typical 40,000-square-foot Whole Foods store.

The Lenox Hill location will feature:

  • Over 400 local products from more than 100 northeastern suppliers, including New York-based Family Farmstead Dairy and The White Moustache.
  • Exclusive local brands such as Jack & Friends, P-Nuff Crunch, and Mimi Cheng’s, as well as TALEA Beer Co.’s Lenox Hill Pilsner, available only at this location.
  • The first Juice & Java venue in New York City, offering coffee, tea, smoothies, sandwiches, soups, and desserts.
  • A variety of freshly prepared meals, including single-serve bowls like Teriyaki Salmon and Falafel Tahini.
  • A selection of fresh produce, meat, seafood, pre-packed meals, bread, alcohol, and the 365 by Whole Foods Market brand.

On opening day, the first 300 customers will receive a limited-edition tote bag, complimentary cold brew coffee from Nguyen Coffee Supply, and muffins from Abe’s.

As part of its commitment to supporting local communities, Whole Foods Market will donate in-kind products to The Bowery Mission, City Harvest, and Gotham Food Pantry. These organizations will also collect excess food through Whole Foods’ Grocery Rescue Program.
