Whole Foods Market has expanded its presence on Cape Cod, opening a new, larger store in Hyannis, Massachusetts. The new 42,560-square-foot location at 990 Iyannough Road replaces a smaller store that had been operating nearby for over a decade. This opening is part of Whole Foods’ broader expansion strategy, which includes plans to open 30 new stores each year, adding to its total of over 530 supermarkets.

On opening day, shoppers were welcomed with free coffee from Jim’s Organic Coffee and pastries from Pain D’Avignon Bakery. The first 300 customers received limited-edition Hyannis tote bags and Secret Saver coupons offering discounts of up to $100.

To mark the occasion, Whole Foods also donated a “Nourishing Our Neighborhoods” van to Family Table Collaborative, a local food rescue organization. This initiative aims to support the delivery of excess food to areas with high demand, enhancing food security in the region.

Bill Earley, the store’s team leader, emphasized that the new store will offer an elevated shopping experience with an expanded selection of local products, highlighting the best of New England.
