Fresh Thyme Market is celebrating its 10th birthday with an exciting opportunity for local bakeries across the Midwest to showcase their talents. The grocer is inviting bakeries to submit fresh, “better-for-you” cake recipes for a chance to win $5,000 and have their creation become Fresh Thyme Market’s official 10th birthday cake.

The winning bakery will receive a $5,000 cash prize, along with mentorship from an expert panel. In addition, $5,000 will be donated to a local Feeding America food bank in the area where the bakery is based. Fresh Thyme Market is calling on local bakeries and community members in its operating states to submit their recipes or cast votes for their favorite cake.

To participate, bakeries must submit a recipe that includes one produce item, one alternative flour, and three other Fresh Thyme Market-branded ingredients. Additionally, they must submit a video answering the question, “How do you shop at Fresh Thyme Market?” Submissions are open until April 26 at 11:59 PM Central Time.

Three finalists will be selected, and their cakes will be sampled during in-store events on May 18 at all Fresh Thyme Market locations. Shoppers will have the chance to taste the cakes and vote for their favorite to determine the winner. In addition to the competition, Fresh Thyme Market is raffling off 10 gift cards valued at $100 each for shoppers who participate in the tasting and voting events.

Fresh Thyme Market, known for its commitment to natural foods and fresh produce, operates 70 stores across 10 states in the Midwest and employs over 4,000 associates. This contest highlights the grocer’s dedication to supporting local businesses and promoting healthier food options for the community.
