The investigation was initiated by the Michigan Department of Agriculture, with the Ohio Department of Agriculture conducting its own examination. The expanded recall affects produce packed between July 5-12 and distributed to retailers in 13 states, including Walmart, Aldi, Save A Lot, and Kroger. The produce is available in bags, individually, or by the pound. To date, no illnesses have been reported. For a list of products under the expanded recall, click here. Previously, on July 12, Wiers Farm Inc. voluntarily recalled a limited number of whole cucumbers (6 to 9 inches in length, 1.5 to 2.5 inches in diameter) packed on June 5, and two-pound bagged salad cucumbers packed on June 5 and June 6, due to potential Listeria monocytogenes contamination. These cucumbers were distributed to Walmart locations in Michigan, Indiana, and Ohio.
