To increase shrimp consumption, two major seafood industry organizations have launched exciting recipe contests that encourage creativity and new ways to prepare shrimp dishes.

1. Wild American Shrimp’s “Don’t Be Shellfish With Your Shrimp Recipes” Contest

Open to both consumers and chefs, the “Don’t Be Shellfish With Your Shrimp Recipes” contest runs until March 6. This contest invites participants to share their best shrimp recipes—whether they’re family secrets, creative creations, or dishes meant for community gatherings or game nights. The five winners will be featured in an exclusive article on the Wild American Shrimp website, and their recipes will be highlighted across the organization’s social media channels.

Even if you’re not selected as one of the five winners, there’s still an opportunity for your recipe to be featured on Wild American Shrimp’s “Recipes” page. Recipes will be judged based on quality (33%), originality (33%), and alignment with the brand’s values (34%). Judges will also consider the quality of photos and videos submitted with each entry.

This contest is a great chance for both professional chefs and home cooks to showcase shrimp recipes that have sentimental value or a unique backstory.

2. SeaPak Shrimp & Seafood Co.’s “Chopped At Home Challenge”

Inspired by the popular Food Network competition series “Chopped,” SeaPak Shrimp & Seafood Co. is launching the “Chopped At Home Challenge” for shrimp lovers. This contest invites consumers to create a quick and easy original dish using four required ingredients, including SeaPak Shrimp Scampi. Participants must submit a dish that takes 45 minutes or less to prepare.

Kristen Beadon, director of marketing for SeaPak, commented, “The SeaPak Chopped At Home Challenge is as easy as shop, cook, and compete. It’s a unique opportunity for SeaPak fans and fans of ‘Chopped’ to unite and create new, unexpected flavors with shrimp.”

These contests provide a fun and engaging way to explore different ways of cooking shrimp while inspiring home cooks to get creative in the kitchen. Whether you’re participating in the Wild American Shrimp contest or the SeaPak challenge, these competitions are helping to boost shrimp consumption in unique and tasty ways.
